Google Intelligence: Automatic, Intelligent Alerts

The Google Analytics tools seem to improve almost every day- making it easier to measure your website’s performance and your online visitors’ behavior. Recently, Google added a module called Intelligence to Google Analytics, providing automatic, intelligent alerts. This edition of the KeyWord will help bring you up to speed with this newly implemented Google Analytics module.

The Google Analytics Intelligence module (currently in beta) allows webmasters to create and receive custom alerts automatically when predetermined occurrences happen to their website traffic. For example, if you want to be notified when a set number of goals have been reached, or when an individual traffic source brings your site a certain amount of traffic, Intelligence can alert you via email when this event has occurred.

Intelligence is accessed in the left-hand column of Google Analytics.

Once Google Analytics Intelligence has been setup to alert you of the conditions you requested, you will be able to receive a quick overview of traffic developments on a specific campaign, landing page traffic source, etc. Setting alerts for sudden decreases in traffic, conversions or even internal pages, will allow you and your team to quickly identify, analyze and resolve issues that could cost or save your company revenue.
