Iris Golf Outing Will Get Participants “Into the Swing” of Giving for Two Local Non-Profits

—Proceeds to Benefit Marrakech, Inc. and The Connecticut Mental Health Center—

Woodbridge, CT —Laurel View Country Club in Hamden will play host for the 4th annual Iris Golf Tournament on Saturday,September 29 at Laurel View Country Club located at 310 West Shepard Avenue in Hamden. The tournament will be a four-person team scramble with registration and snack lunch beginning at 12:30 p.m. and Shot Gun Start at 1:30 p.m. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Marrakech, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of educational, employment and housing programs and services to children and adults throughout Connecticut and the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), an urban community mental health center, located in New Haven that serves individuals with serious mental illness and addictions.

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy a full day of events including 18 holes of golf along with access to practice facilities. Additionally, all participants will be provided a gift bag, complimentary beer, soft drinks and snacks, as well as a banquet dinner complete with awards and raffle prizes. Any tournament participant who scores a hole-in-one on the par 3 12th hole will win a Mini Cooper or $20,000 cash. Participants who score a hole-in-one on the other par 3’s will win an iron set, Bose sound system or Dell computer.

"The Iris Golf Outing continues to be a favorite among golfing enthusiasts and novices alike,” said Francis McCarthy, executive director, Marrakech, Inc. “The annual outing is a fun and interactive way in which individuals, organizations and companies can come together and enjoy a pleasurable round of golf in a beautiful country club setting, while supporting the vital programs and services that Marrakech and the Connecticut Mental Health Center provide.”

The Iris Golf Tournament is made possible thanks to title sponsor G. Donovan Associates, Inc., along with generous support from J.P. Dempsey’s, Interface Devices, Inc., New England Brewing Company and Laurel View Country Club.

Ticket prices are $600 per foursome or $150 per person.
